Introduction

The Organization for Future Society Development in Afghanistan (OFSDA) is a non-profit, non-governmental organization established in 2020 and registered with the Ministry of Economy to foster a healthy, informed, and prosperous society based on social justice and equality. Headquartered in Kabul with a primary office in Jalalabad, the organization focuses on a broad range of humanitarian and developmental sectors, including civic education, peacebuilding, violence prevention, and emergency response. By prioritizing the empowerment of women and youth, OFSDA implements programs in vocational training, sustainable agriculture, and healthcare improvement to alleviate poverty and enhance community resilience. Through strategic partnerships with national and international stakeholders, the organization remains committed to upholding human rights, promoting transparency, and driving sustainable growth across Afghanistan’s diverse provinces.

OFSDA Experience in Project Management

The Organization for Future Society Development in Afghanistan (OFSDA) possesses robust institutional experience and technical capacity in project management, driven by a leadership team with extensive knowledge of the humanitarian landscape. The organization is managed by highly qualified and skilled staff who have collaborated with both national and international agencies throughout their careers. Its management structure includes specialized departments such as Program, Finance, HR, Gender, and Capacity Building, each led by managers with solid professional and educational backgrounds. Key personnel include a Country Director with over eight years of organizational experience and a Program Director holding a Master’s Degree with six years of professional expertise.

OFSDA’s project management is supported by a comprehensive operational manual that strictly governs personnel, procurement, and financial policies to ensure transparency and accountability. The Board of Directors provides high-level oversight, including the approval of detailed action plans and the appointment of project managers as proposed by the Executive Director. The organization’s proven track record includes the successful completion of complex initiatives such as the “Civic Education and Awareness Rising for Women Empowerment” project in Kunar and “Elimination of Violence against Women through Advocacy” in Nuristan. These projects, funded by donors like KPGO and USAID-Promote, demonstrate OFSDA’s ability to manage multi-month timelines, significant budgets, and diverse stakeholders in challenging environments.

The Organization for Future Society Development in Afghanistan (OFSDA) has extensive institutional experience in addressing a wide range of humanitarian and developmental issues, particularly those affecting women, youth, and rural residents. Their programmatic focus is built on addressing “imperative” societal needs, such as:

  • Gender-Based Issues and Women’s Empowerment: OFSDA has successfully managed projects focused on civic education for women in Kunar and the elimination of violence against women through advocacy in Nuristan. They address systemic barriers to equality by promoting women’s engagement in politics and creating safe working environments for women and girls.

  • Conflict and Extremism: The organization was founded to resolve conflicts, promote peacebuilding, and prevent violent extremism. They actively work on peace education to foster stability within the society.

  • Socio-Economic Challenges: OFSDA addresses poverty and educational deficiencies through vocational training and livelihood programs designed to help marginalized groups achieve their full potential.
